(NewsReady.com) – On December 7, Texas sued 4 states to overturn their election results on the grounds the states unconstitutionally changed their voter laws. On December 10, 126 Republican members of Congress signed an amicus brief filed with the Supreme Court supporting the lawsuit. At the same time, 27 GOP representatives are asking for an investigation into the election.
Rep. Lance Gooden (R-TX) and 26 other members of Congress signed a letter asking Attorney General Bill Barr to appoint a special counsel to investigate alleged election irregularities. In the letter, the representatives said the “American people deserve a definitive resolution” to the questions surrounding the election. They went on to point out the DOJ has been asked to investigate, but there seems to be a “lack of willingness” to do that.
Last week, I asked that @realDonaldTrump instruct the Attorney General to appoint a Special Counsel to investigate election irregularities.
Now twenty-six Republican colleagues have joined me in calling for an independent investigation to restore faith in our elections!

Free and fair elections are the bedrock of American democracy. If people can’t trust the results of their elections, that democracy will start to erode and the country will be irrevocably broken. It’s time for the people in power to step up.
