(NewsReady.com) – President Joe Biden is a self-described gaffe machine. He’s been in politics for more than 40 years and there are plenty of mistakes to choose from, both funny and serious. Now that he’s in the Oval Office, the mistakes he makes aren’t as harmless as they once were. Let’s take a look at three of his most famous mistakes.
1. Mistakes Sister for His Wife
During the 2020 presidential primary campaign, Biden’s sister Valeria joined him and his wife Jill on stage to celebrate his Super Tuesday wins. The then-presidential candidate introduced his sister, then grabbed his wife’s hand. Then, he introduced his wife and realized his mistake before joking, “You’ve switched on me.”
2. Biden Nods off During COP26
In November, Biden attended the UN Climate Change Conference (COP26) in Glasgow, Scotland. During the summit, the president was listening to one of the speakers when he closed his eyes for a few seconds. He opened them up before closing them again. After about 30 seconds, one of his staffers walked over to him and seemed to wake up. The two began speaking and the POTUS clapped for the speaker on the stage. Former President Donald Trump’s nickname “Sleepy Joe,” seemed to become a reality.

3. Afghanistan Blunder
The first two gaffes on the list are funny, but the third is not. In August, Biden pulled all of the US troops out of Afghanistan and it was absolute chaos. Desperate refugees threw their children over fences, into the arms of soldiers. An ISIS-K bomb killed 13 American troops guarding the Kabul airport during the evacuation.
When the final US plane left the war-torn nation, roughly 150 Americans were left behind.
Now that Biden is president, his gaffes are far less humorous than they once were — the Afghanistan mistake was an example of that.
