Andrew Tate's Arrest Caused by Greta Thunberg?

(NewsReady.com) – Self-described misogynist Andrew Tate amassed millions of followers on social media before he was de-platformed. When Elon Musk took over Twitter in the fall, he allowed the controversial star back on the site. On December 29, Tate was arrested by Romanian authorities and some credited climate activist Greta Thunberg with making that happen.

In a statement, prosecutors working for the Directorate for the Investigation of Organized Crime and Terrorism announced the arrests of four people suspected of human trafficking and forcing victims to participate in adult films. A spokesperson for prosecutors, Ramona Bolla, confirmed to The New York Times Andrew Tate, his brother Tristan, and two others were being charged with rape, human trafficking, and forming an organized criminal group.

Social media had gone wild with claims that a photo of a pizza box posted by Tate led authorities to him.

The Associated Press reported Bolla debunked the claims that law enforcement found the brothers because of an internet fight between Andrew and Thunberg. She said the rumor was “funny, but no.”

A judge has ordered all of the suspects to stay in jail for 30 more days. Andrew Tate’s attorneys appealed the ruling, and a decision is set to come down at any time.
