(NewsReady.com) – Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY) is having a bad week. Not only has her campaign’s spokesman, Corbin Trent, suddenly walked away from her campaign, but AOC’s progressive friend also didn’t do so well on Super Tuesday.
Jessica Cisneros, who was boosted by AOC, attempted to take over Texas’ 28th Congressional district seat. Cisneros lost by a few thousand votes with Rep. Henry Cuellar (D-TX) holding onto his seat with 52% of the vote.
AOC sent her friend some words of encouragement for trying so hard:
I am so incredibly proud of Jessica Cisneros.
At 26 years old, she ran for office for the first time to offer TX28 new leadership that fights for workers, gender rights,& a climate agenda.
She stood up to Koch brother money & incumbency, & she came closer than anyone imagined. https://t.co/3NiBVMfDrf

Cisneros also tweeted about her experience running for a House seat.
The first thing we had to defeat was the culture of fear — and our movement was victorious in proving we're within striking distance of bringing fundamental change to South Texas.

According to AOC and her friends, Cuellar is a conservative Democrat that doesn’t deserve his seat. Cisneros received a number of endorsements including AOC, Sen. Elizabeth Warren (D-MA), and EMILY’s List, a liberal pro-women organization that, among other things, supports abortion.
