Levi will begin his new duties starting Monday, March 9th. Part of his new duties includes working closely with senior Department of Justice (DOJ) officials to oversee the day-to-day happenings in the department. He will also interact with the White House’s counsel office.
Levi has been one of seven individuals serving as a counselor to the attorney general over the past two years. He’s helped Barr take on challenges, like revising the government’s ability to spy domestically, and contributed to various criminal and civil issues at the DOJ. He’s the third generation of his family to work as a justice official.
Previous to his career with the DOJ, Levi was a clerk for the former Supreme Court Justice Samuel Alito and was described as “immensely helpful.”
