Bernie Sanders Reportedly Ready to Run Again in 2024

(NewsReady.com) – Senator Bernie Sanders (I-VT) ran for the Democratic presidential nomination in both 2016 and 2020. Both times, the 80-year-old lost to the establishment candidates, and his supporters were outraged. Rumors are now circulating that he might run again.

According to the Washington Post, one of Sanders’ top political advisers said the senator “has not ruled out another run for president” if President Joe Biden decides he’s not going to run for re-election. Faiz Shakir, Sanders’ 2020 campaign manager, made the remarks in a memo sent out to the Vermont senator’s political allies on April 20. He urged them to keep that in mind as they look toward the 2024 election.

Sanders’ Spokesman Mike Casca called it “frustrating” that the memo leaked when the Washington Post asked about it. However, he then claimed the senator is “the most popular officeholder in the country.” He did not provide proof of the statement but said it was based on a poll.

Sanders is a far-left independent who has called for the implementation of a number of socialist policies, including Medicare-for-all. While he’s popular among young white people, he has repeatedly failed to drum up support among minority groups. It’s unclear whether he would change tactics the next time around.

What do you think about Sanders possibly running again?
