(NewsReady.com) – When you’re meeting the leaders of the world’s largest economies, it’s not a good idea to be late – and if you are late, you better have a good excuse. Unless, you’re the notoriously tardy President Joe Biden, of course.
On Sunday, October 31, the G20 group held a press conference in Rome to mark the end of their latest discussions on reducing carbon emissions. Unfortunately, the conference had to be delayed, as President Biden was over 20 minutes late. When he finally arrived, he brushed off his poor punctuality by saying “We were playing with elevators. Long story, anyway.”
"Playing with elevators"?????
Perhaps they were trying to figure out why Biden's elevator doesn't go all the way up to the top.

The G20 consists of 19 of the wealthiest nations, plus the European Union. Most of the US’ key allies were present on Sunday, including the UK, Japan, and South Korea. It’s unlikely Biden impressed them by keeping them waiting while he “played” with an elevator. However, it’s also unlikely that excuse was accurate; Biden is gaining a reputation for lateness. Fox News has been tracking his appearances and says that, from June 1 to mid-October, he was an average of 22.4 minutes late. In August, that spiked to 34 minutes.
Biden traveled to Glasgow from Rome for the COP 26 climate conference, which began on November 1. Within hours, UK newspapers reported that the aging president had dozed off during the opening session, and an aide had to wake him.
