(NewsReady.com) – During an interview with MSNBC’s “Morning Joe,” former Vice President Joe Biden broke down into tears when asked about his late son.
Beau Biden lost his fight against brain cancer in 2015. Joe stayed out of the 2016 presidential race in large part due to the trauma of his son’s death. On Wednesday, when asked about Beau’s influence on his 2020 presidential campaign, Joe broke down and said, “Beau should be the one running for president, not me.”

Biden shared the kind of support he often receives on the campaign trail over his loss:
“You’d be amazed at the number of people who come up to me. I mean hundreds of people over time. They’ll throw their arms around me, men and women, and say, ‘I just lost my son, I just lost my father, I just lost my wife.’ And all they want to know is that you’re going to make it.”
In a country that’s often divided politically, the former vice president’s statements illustrate how compassionate the American people are.
