Bill Cosby Accused of Shocking Act

Bill Cosby Accused in Shocking Act

(NewsReady.com) – Bill Cosby was once one of America’s most beloved actors and comedians. However, that all changed when dozens of women alleged he drugged and raped them over the past several decades. Recently, another accuser came forward.

On Thursday, June 1, attorneys for former Playboy model Victoria Valentino filed a lawsuit against Cosby in Los Angeles County Superior Court. The legal team is using the “lookback window” in California’s Sexual Abuse and Cover Up Accountability Act to go after the comedian decades after the alleged victim claims the assault took place. The law granted people who claim they were victims of sexual assault while they were adults to sue during a one-year window.

The 80-year-old model claims Cosby drugged and raped her in 1969 while she was grieving the death of her 6-year-old son. According to the suit, Valentino alleges she was out to dinner with a friend when the comedian approached her table to talk to her friend. Later, they met at another location where she claims Cosby gave her a drink with pills mixed in.

Valentino said she fell ill afterward, and Cosby offered her and her friend a ride home. Instead, he drove them to his office, where he allegedly raped her.

Andrew Wyatt, Cosby’s publicist, was furious about the new allegations. He called Valentino’s accusations “absurd” and said the Supreme Court should rule on the “absurd historical rape allegations.” Appearing to slam the Me Too Movement, he said eight years have passed since sexual assault allegations began and “thousands of people have gone to jail” while almost every man in politics “has been threatened or falsely accused.” Wyatt went on to say authorities should be protecting all Americans “from this grotesque abuse of human rights.”

Cosby’s publicist has also said Valentino has changed her story multiple times over the years. And he believes she is targeting the 85-year-old comedian because of his race. Wyatt said the lawsuit takes aim at all of the black men in America, including former President Barack Obama and Will Smith. Neither man has been accused of sexual assault.
