(NewsReady.com) – It’s been almost a month since Gabby Petito’s body was discovered in Wyoming, and her fiancé, Brian Laundrie, is still in the wind. His parents reported him missing after never returning from an alleged hike. Now, his sister is opening up about what it’s been like for the last month.
During an ABC News interview that aired October 5 on “Good Morning America,” Cassie Laundrie said her family isn’t speaking to her. The mother of two said her brother and parents stopped by for a visit when he returned home with Gabby’s van, but it was an “ordinary” visit. She said that although her brother and Gabby would argue, she’d never seen any signs of domestic violence. Cassie also said she wished her brother had come to her when he returned home, instead of her parents, because she doesn’t think they’d be where they are if he had.
Cassie urged her brother to turn himself over to authorities. “I would tell my brother to just come forward and get us out of this horrible mess,” she said.
Cassie went on to say the last time she heard from her brother was September 6 at the Fort Desoto Campgrounds in Florida. She said they had dinner, roasted marshmallows, and had a nice time. She explained she wants to know where her brother is just as much as everyone else because she wants answers.
Police are currently searching for Brian Laundrie. Recently, a Florida man told the media he believes he encountered the fugitive (who is wanted for fraud) on a remote section of the Appalachian Trail in North Carolina.
Cassie said she wants Gabby’s family to know her heart is with them, “They deserve answers.”
