Honest government, proud patriotism, strong nuclear families, a booming economy – there were a lot of good things about the 1950s. Now, it seems that liberals get nostalgic, too. So, what retro idea do our friends on the Left want to bring back? Turns out it’s Jim Crow.

Chapman University, a private college in Orange, California, has announced that this summer it’ll be holding racially segregated graduation ceremonies, just like in the good ol’ days. Chapman has announced a series of color-barred days, plus an LGBT one and a disabled one, in the week following the main graduation event. Black, Middle Eastern, and Latinx students have been singled out for discrimination.
The college claims these “additional celebrations” will let students “share the joy of graduation with their friends and family.” What’s missing is an explanation of why their friends and family can’t share the joy at the main graduation event. Don’t they want black, brown, or gay faces in that picture?
Colleges like Chapman come out with all sorts of explanations for their woke apartheid, but to most people, it just looks an awful lot like racism.
