Popular Children’s Place Accused After Damning Video Comes Out…
(NewsReady.com) – Accusations of racism are nothing new in America. The country has a long, storied history of the way minorities have been treated, although it’s arguably been much better since the Civil Rights Movement. Recently, companies that rely on happy children to operate have been hit with complaints of discrimination.
A New Jersey mom shared a video on Twitter of an incident she claims took place the day before at Chuck E. Cheese in the city of Wayne. The recording shows her 2-year-old daughter jumping up and down while the mouse hi-fives what appears to be a group of white children on stage. When her black child holds her hand out, the character ignores her and moves on.
PLEASE RETWEET‼️ On July 30 at Chuck E Cheese in Wayne, NJ, my 2yo was racially discriminated against. As you can see, he gives all of the yt kids hi-5s & PURPOSELY ignored my black baby. When confronted, he ignored me as well. The manager, Angie Valasquez, made excuses for him.. pic.twitter.com/QMmE3wmti1

The mom said she reported the incident to the staff, but was ignored. In a statement to E! News, the company said it was “saddened when any family or child has a less than perfect experience.” Chuck E. Cheese went on to say it strives to be a safe place where all kids can have fun.
The incident comes a month after another mother claimed Sesame Place in Philadelphia ignored her black child while greeting white kids. The company in that situation also apologized, but the family filed a lawsuit.
What do you think? Did these kids get discriminated against, or are their mothers making a mountain out of a molehill?
