Democrats’ COVID Relief Bill to Hinder Children’s Education

Democrats' COVID Relief Bill to Hinder Children's Education
  • Millions of school-aged children have been forced to learn from home during the COVID-19 pandemic.
  • Schools are still closed in some liberal cities, like San Francisco.
  • Doctors have said they’ve seen an increase in depression in children.
  • Democrats’ COVID bill may hurt kids across America even more.

( – In the spring of 2020, schools started closing around the country in an attempt to slow the spread of the virus. At first, it made sense because health officials didn’t know how the coronavirus was spreading, or much about it at all in general. In the past year, however, they’ve learned a lot, particularly about the safety of schools. It turns out they’re safer than originally thought.

Still, Democratic lawmakers seem resistant to reopening schools. In fact, one Republican thinks the Left’s COVID-19 relief bill will only make the situation worse.

Minority Leader Speaks Out

On February 26, House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy (R-CA) spoke to “Fox & Friends” and said the Democratic Party’s COVID-19 relief bill is a “pork-filled wish list.” He said the leftist lawmakers blocked $64 billion the GOP wanted to use to reopen schools for a third time, and that makes him think they want to keep learning institutions closed.

CDC on School Spread

On February 12, the CDC updated its information about the impact of COVID-19 on kids. The health agency said that current data shows “in-person learning in schools has not been associated with substantial community transmission.” The report explained that the rise in cases among kids corresponds with the increase in adult infections; in other words, it has nothing to do with school.

Enough is Enough

There’s no reason to keep schools closed. The policy isn’t keeping kids safer; it’s just hurting their education. It’s time to reopen classrooms and allow children to return to normal life.
