(NewsReady.com) – The Steele dossier involved with the investigation regarding Russian interference in the 2016 election is now under fire.
Carter Page, a former Trump campaign adviser, recently filed a lawsuit against the DNC, Perkins Coie law firm, and its partners. The dossier was used as the basis for an investigation into key pro-Trump individuals, including Page himself. These investigations included controversial surveillance warrants against him and others on the list.
The lawsuit was due to alleged abuse of the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act (FISA) against those on the dossier. In the case, allegations are being made that the DNC and its partners “used false information, misrepresentations and other misconduct to direct the power of the international intelligence apparatus and the media industry against [Page] to further their political agenda.”
Attorney John Pierce, who is representing Page in court, shared his thoughts on the lawsuit:
“This is a first step to ensure that the full extent of the FISA abuse that has occurred during the last few years is exposed and remedied. Defendants and those they worked with inside the federal government did not and will not succeed in making America a surveillance state.”
