DNC Pumps $15M Into Several Swing States To Bolster Campaign Performance

  • President Biden is being walloped in the polls.
  • People on both sides of the aisle expressed concern about his debate performance in June.
  • The DNC is trying to counter the attacks by heavily investing in the party’s ground campaign infrastructure.
  • Elon Musk is also donating to a pro-Trump super PAC.

(NewsReady.com) – The Democratic Party’s hope of winning the 2024 presidential race, taking back the House, and holding on to the Senate seems to be slipping away from them. President Joe Biden’s abysmal debate performance has frightened the party. Several lawmakers have asked the POTUS to drop out of the race, while the Democratic National Committee (DNC) is going about it a different way.

DNC Pours Millions into Race

On July 16, the DNC announced it was going to invest $15 million into the seven battleground states. The money is going to the state parties to fund more field offices, hire staffers, and expand the party’s data collection efforts.

DNC Chair Jaime Harrison released a statement saying it was the “largest-ever investment made to battleground state parties at this point in time.” He continued, saying the party was going to continue building its “state-by-state war chests in preparation to re-elect” Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris.

The party will invest over $1.2 million in North Carolina, over $1 million in Georgia, nearly $1.5 million in Arizona, $3 million in Wisconsin, and almost $2 million each in Michigan, Pennsylvania, and Nevada.

The DNC is hoping the massive ground campaign will help the party shore up votes in the states Biden won in 2020, despite concerns about his age. The election is expected to be very close and every swing state vote will count.

Republicans Respond

Anna Kelly, a spokesperson for the Republican National Committee (RNC), responded to the DNC’s plans and downplayed its investments. She said the president’s campaign wants to discuss everything besides the problems they are having with their “cognitively impaired candidate” or the polls that show Trump leading in all of the battleground states, including the “so-called ‘blue states’ across the country.”

Kelly went on, saying the president and “his handlers” can talk about the election process as much as they want, but Trump will keep highlighting his pro-America agenda, which includes bringing inflation down and dealing with the crisis along the US-Mexico border.

While the DNC invests in the campaign, a Republican PAC is also getting a boost. Recent reports indicated Elon Musk, who has endorsed Trump, would be investing about $45 million a month to the America PAC, a Trump-supporting PAC, which focuses on voter registration and outreach. The donations will begin in July.
