(NewsReady.com) – When billionaire Jeffrey Epstein died in jail in 2019 after being arrested for sex trafficking, his victims lost the opportunity to have justice served. The convicted sex offender took his secrets to his grave and there wasn’t much hope anyone else would face justice.
That may not be the case anymore.
British socialite Ghislaine Maxwell was one of Epstein’s closest confidants and has long been suspected of helping him lure underage girls to his homes. On July 2, almost a year after the billionaire’s death, federal prosecutors with the Southern District of New York (SDNY) charged Maxwell with six crimes. Those charges include conspiracy to entice minors to engage in illegal sex acts.
What we've learned about Ghislaine Maxwell in a SDNY detention memo:
– she has 3 passports
– she has over 15 bank accounts w/balances ranging from 100s of thousands of dollars to over $20 million
– SDNY says she "poses an extreme risk of flight" pic.twitter.com/qImzShUVDZ

Officers arrested Maxwell on Thursday morning. The indictment states she “assisted, facilitated, and contributed” to Epstein’s crimes against minors. Prosecutors allege the girls were as young as 14.
Maxwell will make her first appearance in front of a judge in New Hampshire.
