Ex-RNC Chair Calls Tucker Carlson a “Demonic” Figure

(NewsReady.com) – At the end of February, Speaker of the House Kevin McCarthy (R-CA) gave Fox News’ Tucker Carlson exclusive access to Capitol surveillance footage from the riot on January 6, 2021. The outrage from the Left and media organizations was immediate. The television host recently began airing the footage, just as new filings from Dominion were released, and now a prominent Republican is also attacking him.

On March 7, former Republican National Committee (RNC) Chairman Michael Steele appeared on MSNBC’s “Deadline White House” with two other panelists. Host Nicolle Wallace read texts allegedly from Tucker Carlson that Dominion included in a recent filing. The company reportedly obtained the messages in discovery.

The texts showed Carlson speaking poorly about former President Donald Trump privately on the day of the Capitol riot, calling him a “demonic force, a destroyer.” Now, two years later, the Fox News host is playing clips of January 6 footage on his show and has described the events of the day as a peaceful protest. Steele responded to the news by calling Carlson “one of those demonic creatures” who enables the former president.

Steele went on to say Carlson and people who support his viewpoint are “demonic sycophants” who are “twisting” the narrative around January 6th.

It is important to note that Steele is not an impartial viewer. He has long been a Never Trumper and has spent years attacking him. However, he is not the only member of the GOP going after Carlson.

Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-KY), who is responsible for many of the party’s successes in recent years, also slammed Carlson. NPR reported the GOP leader said Fox News made a mistake depicting the riot as peaceful, which is at odds with what US Capitol Police Chief Tom Manger said about the events of that day.
