Famous Actor Defends Christians, Saying Attacking Christians Is

(NewsReady.com) – “The Passion of the Christ” was arguably one of the most talked about films of the 21st Century. The Mel Gibson-directed movie brought Jesus Christ into theaters nationwide and touched the hearts of millions. The actor who played the Lord’s son is now defending Christianity.

On June 20, Jim Caviezel joined the podcast “Prophets and Patriots” hosts to talk about his new film “Sound of Freedom,” which comes out on Independence Day. The actor, who is a Catholic, said the new movie was about a government agent rescuing two kids from traffickers in South America. It was produced by Christian filmmakers at Angel Studios and is a “rejection of what they are doing to our Christian culture right now.”

The longtime actor told the podcast that he thinks bigotry against the Christian faith is the “most accepted form of bigotry” across the world. But he isn’t okay with that and wants to put an end to it.

This isn’t the first time Caviezel has spoken out against the alleged hatred toward Christianity. In 2020, when his movie “Infidel” was released, he spoke to the “Edifi With Billy Hallowell” podcast. He said the film discussed the persecution of Christians in the Middle East, calling it “[b]arbaric.”

Two years prior to that interview, in 2018, Caviezel spoke to Liberty University students and told them the Lord will put them on the paths they are meant for. He told the students they shouldn’t “tolerate evil and continue to stand for their faith.”

Caviezel told the latest podcast that he believes the radical leftists will try to remove verses from the Bible. He went on and slammed people who are spreading LGBTQ+ tolerance, saying they “are going to rip [the teachings of sexuality] right out of your book.” He compared liberals to communists and nazis who are going to take people’s faith.
