(NewsReady.com) – Dr. Anthony Fauci, a member of President Trump’s coronavirus task force, testified before the Senate on June 29. During his testimony, the country’s top infectious disease physician said he’s concerned about states like Texas and Florida “skipping over” some reopening guidelines. That did not make some people happy.
Texas Lt. Gov. Dan Patrick (R) spoke to Fox News and said Fauci “doesn’t know what he’s talking about.” The state didn’t skip over anything and accused the doctor of being “wrong every time.” The Republican lawmaker said the only thing he’s “skipping over is listening to [Fauci].”

Patrick explained locking down his state doesn’t work because California, which locked down quickly, is seeing cases rise. He went on to say Texas is listening to doctors, just not Fauci.
The state has scaled back its reopening in the last week as cases rise. Officials across the US are trying to balance safety and the economy to avoid hurting the American people even more than COVID already has.
