Feds STORM HOME – Agents Swarm the Scene!

(NewsReady.com) – The FBI has arrested a Republican candidate in the Michigan gubernatorial race. Ryan Kelley was picked up last Thursday, June 9, after agents raided his home. Now, he’s facing multiple charges related to last January’s Capitol riot.

Around 9:30 a.m. on June 8, the FBI raided Kelley’s home in Allendale Township, Michigan. Kelley, a 40-year-old real estate agent, was arrested on four charges including disruptive conduct, injuring public property, and entering a restricted area. An affidavit filed against Kelley says at least four people told the FBI he was at the January 6 riot. Based on that, the Bureau has trawled up photos and video of a man they say is Kelley taking part in the protest that led up to the riot. Images show the man standing near the Capitol building, apparently urging the crowd on.

Kelley admits he was at the protest, but strongly denies taking part in any illegal activity. Right now, he’s one of seven Republicans vying to challenge incumbent governor Gretchen Whitmer (D) in November, and with around 19% of Michigan voters backing him, he’s the GOP’s best hope of unseating her. Now, whether he’s convicted or not, attention will shift from his election campaign to the FBI’s case against him.
