Around 1 a.m. on July 26, an argument broke out at a party in Fort Worth, TX, and quickly escalated to horrific violence when an aggrieved guest pulled a handgun and started shooting. The volley of shots left one dead and three injured, two of them critically.
As bad as it was, it could have been even worse – but as the assailant kept firing at the other guests, they fought back. Grabbing landscaping bricks from a stack in the yard where the party was taking place, they hurled them at the killer and brought him down with a barrage of heavy projectiles. Police were called, but by the time they got there, the killer had died of his injuries.
Fort Worth PD spokeswoman Tracy Carter said “It’s a great community. It’s an unfortunate incident,” and praised the way residents are cooperating with officers. So far, nobody has been charged over the death of the gunman, who cops believe knew all his victims.
