ICE Blocks Immigrant Students

ICE Blocks Immigrant Students

(NewsReady.com) – Immigration is one of the areas the Trump Administration has targeted for clean-up. For years, politicians have been lax and rules haven’t been enforced as well as they should have been; the border is a good example of that. Officials are now taking even more steps to regulate migration to the country.

On July 6, Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) released new guidelines for foreign students. According to the rules, those here on F-1 or M-1 visas cannot solely take online courses this fall.

Foreign students must attend schools that offer in-person learning. If they are at an educational institution that only provides online classes, they will have to leave the country.

It only makes sense. If a student is in the US to attend classes, they should be in-person. They could do remote learning from their own country and American students could have their physical seats in the classrooms. This could also help stop the spread of COVID-19.
