(NewsReady.com) – House Democrats have revealed an infrastructure plan that won’t become law. Rather, it will guide subsequent discussions and bills regarding how to address the state of America’s infrastructure. This latest plan, the Moving Forward Framework, calls for a total of $760 billion over 5 years.
Part of the proposal includes workings towards net-zero carbon emissions, creating a green transportation system, support for US industries required for these projects, and to create family-wage jobs to complete said projects.
House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) says that the plan is “just one part of what we will have” when it comes to talking about housing, education, and construction.
President Trump estimated that the total costs of American infrastructure projects will amount to $2 trillion. That leaves about $1.2 trillion for House Democrats to account for when formulating the next stages of their plan. According to Pelosi, there’s no set timeline before this undertaking is complete.
The House seems to be focused more on progress than adhering to a timeline.
