(NewsReady.com) – Facebook has been under a lot of pressure since the 2016 election to root out fake news from its platform. The company has resisted most efforts to limit political speech on the social media site. But that may soon change.
Facebook is reportedly looking into a ban on political ads. According to a Bloomberg report, the platform would prohibit them in the days leading up to the November election.

The company is currently discussing the issues but has not finalized any plans. Earlier this year, CEO Mark Zuckerberg said “people should be able to see what politicians say.” Banning ads is a direct contradiction. Additionally, is the social networking site going to black out all posts from all politicians? Are they only limiting paid digital ads? How do the company’s officials plan to do this? These are all questions that need to be answered.
