JD Vance’s Dismal Polling Results Are Unveiled by CNN’s Data Guru

(NewsReady.com) – Senator JD Vance (R-OH) is former President Donald Trump’s running mate in the 2024 election. Experts believe Trump chose the “Hillbilly Elegy” author in an attempt to shore up the votes in middle America and the South. A senior data analyst for CNN recently reported that Vance is dragging the former president down, but Democrats are still the underdogs in the race.

On July 23, data analyst Harry Enten told “OutFront” host Erin Burnett that he didn’t understand why Trump picked Vance. Further, he explained the polls show the American people are also confused about the choice. He said that when he analyzed the senator’s net favorable rating, “It’s in negative net territory.”

Enten researched every election since 1980 and couldn’t find another vice presidential candidate who had a net negative rating. The data shows Vance is the first VP candidate to have a “negative favorable rating that is underwater” directly after a national convention. Trump’s running mate currently has negative six points. By comparison, the average since 2000 is plus 19 points. Enten declared Vance is “making history in the completely wrong way” and “he’s dragging Trump down.”

That doesn’t mean Democrats are going to win in November. In a different interview, Enten spoke to CNN host Sara Sidner and said Trump is the most popular he has ever been, even as Vice President Kamala Harris appears on track to become the Democratic Party’s presidential candidate.

Sidner asked how Trump performed against Harris in straw polls compared to a match against President Joe Biden. He said that the former president is polling ahead of Harris when it comes to the popular vote, something Trump has never won before, not even in 2016. Enten predicted Harris would lose the Electoral College votes unless she started doing better and didn’t start outperforming her current national numbers.

There are approximately three and a half months left until the election, and it’s still anybody’s game.
