Justice Roberts Has An Announcement To Make
(NewsReady.com) – On May 2, POLITICO published a draft opinion in the US Supreme Court’s (SCOTUS) Dobbs v. Jackson Women’s Health Organization case. The opinion showed a majority of the court voted to overturn Roe v. Wade and Planned Parenthood v. Casey, which would allow Conservatives across the country to ban abortion in their states. Chief Justice John Roberts is now seeking answers.
The SCOTUS issued a statement on May 3 confirming the draft opinion was real. The justices said it’s important to understand that no decision is final until they officially release it. Oftentimes, the justices write draft opinions, and then the outcome of the case later changes.
Roberts was appalled by the leak of the document. He called it an “egregious breach” of trust and “an affront to the Court.” The chief justice said it was a “betrayal of the confidences of the Court” and he believes the intent was to “undermine the integrity” of it. Roberts finished by saying he instructed the court’s marshal to investigate the incident.

It’s unclear who leaked the draft opinion and for what reason, but it’s necessary to find out who they are to stop it from happening again. The SCOTUS needs to be able to debate before they hand down final opinions without the interference of the American public. They were denied that respect this time around.
