Kim Jong-Un Slams NATO Summit Statement

(NewsReady.com) – NATO leaders met in Washington, DC, recently and issued a statement condemning China, Iran, and North Korea for enabling Russia. The international organization accused North Korean leader Kim Jong-un of helping to rebuild Russia’s war machine. The nation responded by calling NATO the biggest threat to global peace.

The Washington Summit Declaration stated the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea (DPRK) has helped fuel “Russia’s war of aggression against Ukraine by providing direct military support.” The statement went on to say that North Korea is “impact[ing] Euro-Atlantic security and undermin[ing] the global non-proliferation regime.”

North Korea responded to the Washington Summit Declaration by “strongly” denouncing it. The country’s state media, KCNA, quoted a foreign military spokesperson who said the declaration was “cooked up” and that the US and NATO “pose the most serious threat to global peace and security.” The spokesperson said that the US is expanding military blocs and claimed they are “sparking off [a] worldwide arms race.”

The adversarial nation is also furious about a meeting between the US and South Korea. On July 11, President Joe Biden announced he and South Korean President Yoon Suk Yeol had signed joint nuclear deterrence guidelines as part of their plan to deal with North Korea’s expanding nuclear arsenal.

North Korea’s Defense Ministry called the guidelines a “sinister intention to step up” plans to launch a nuclear war against their nation. The ministry claimed its enemies are escalating their nuclear threats and it will have to continue improving its own nuclear program. The statement also said the US and South Korea will “pay an unimaginably harsh price” if they don’t stop provoking Kim’s country.

South Korea’s Defense Ministry warned that the use of nuclear weapons would result in an overwhelming response by its military. The response would result in the end of the North Korean government.
