(NewsReady.com) – Facebook and Twitter have long battled to be the dominant social media force. Rumors recently started to circulate that Facebook, owned by Mark Zuckerberg, is developing a platform designed more like Twitter and hopes to compete with it. That led to what appears to be an agreement to fight between the owners of the platforms.
On June 20, businessman Mario Nawfal posted about a report that indicated Zuckerberg’s company was creating a platform called “Threads.” The potential new platform would be a closer competitor than Facebook because it would reportedly look like Twitter.
Elon Musk, who owns Twitter now, responded that “Earth can’t wait to be exclusively under Zuck’s thumb.” A random person commented and told Musk to “be careful” because he’d heard Zuckerberg “does the ju jitsu now.” The billionaire was unfazed and joked that he would fight his competition.

Zuckerberg responded to the request later by posting a screenshot of the exchange on Instagram with the caption, “Send me a location.” That got back to Musk, who said he would fight his competitor if he wasn’t joking.
If this is for real, I will do it 🔥🔥

Musk later suggested the Ultimate Fighting Championship arena in Las Vegas. He joked that he has a “great move” that he calls “The Walrus,” where he will lie on top of Zuckerberg and so nothing.
The Washington Post reached out to Meta, and Elana Widmann, a spokesperson for the company, said, “The story speaks for itself.”
Twitter users are largely telling Musk to start working out. The Meta owner is known for taking martial arts classes and working out. Photos released in May showed the tech giant grappling with opponents at a jiu-jitsu competition in Brazil. Meanwhile, Musk has said he hardly ever exercises.
It’s not clear if the men actually intend to get into the ring, but one thing is for sure: the country is watching.
