Woman BEHEADED – Body Finally Identified…
(NewsReady.com) – Time and again, Americans hear stories about allegedly abusive relationships ending with the death of one of those involved. Oftentimes, the victim is a woman. Recently, police added a young mother to a long list of tragedies.
On Thursday, September 8, a witness stopped a San Mateo County Sheriff’s deputy to let them know about an assault in progress in San Carlos, California. The deputy rushed to the scene and discovered a female victim deceased on the road. Karina Castro, 27, was reportedly beheaded by a sword in broad daylight.
Law enforcement later arrested a man named Jose Solano Landaeta after he went back to the scene. Police allege the two were in a previous relationship that has been described as abusive. People who knew the young mother of two daughters claimed she was afraid of her ex.
Martin Castro Jr., the victim’s father, spoke to NBC Bay Area the day after the murder. He said he feels as though he’s living in a “horror movie” that he needs to “wake up from.”

The distraught dad said all he feels is “hurt” and “empty” in the wake of his daughter’s murder. He went on to say that if the alleged killer gets the death penalty, he would be “all for it.” Although California has capital punishment, it has not executed anyone since 2006.
