(NewsReady.com) – On Friday, November 20, Kyle Rittenhouse posted bond and was released from a Kenosha, WI, jail pending trial. Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY) is now speaking out against the teenager’s release.
Always one to divide, AOC made Rittenhouse’s release a race issue. According to the lawmaker, it’s an example of “white privilege” and “law and disorder.”
Does anyone believe Rittenhouse would be released if he were Muslim & did the same thing in a diff context? For people who say “systemic racism doesn’t exist,” this is what it looks like: protection of white supremacy baked deep into our carceral systems.
Law and disorder.

AOC is angry that the 17-year-old was able to leave jail after a fundraiser enabled his attorney to post a $2-million cash bond for him. She believes that proves “protection of white supremacy is baked” into the criminal justice system.
Maybe AOC forgot how the criminal justice system works. Rittenhouse went before a judge and was given a bond amount. People paid that bail and he was released. That’s how it’s supposed to work. Or, is it only okay to raise money to bail people out of jail when they’re leftists? The congresswoman, herself, has raised money for progressives who were in jail.
