(NewsReady.com) – Over the last few weeks, the video of George Floyd’s death has been widely circulated. One of the things many people asked is why the other officers did nothing when another cop, Derek Chauvin, kneeled on the victim’s neck. Those questions eventually led to charges and three cops were arrested for aiding and abetting manslaughter and second-degree murder.
Now one of them is back on the street. Kind of.
On Wednesday, Thomas Lane met his $750,000 conditional bail and walked out of jail.

Lane will be monitored while on bond, won’t be allowed to carry a firearm, and he can’t participate in police activities. The last one shouldn’t be hard because he was fired from the Minneapolis Police Department.
Activists online are angry that he made bail, which is understandable. However, it’s important to remember that, even when emotions are high, the law still has to be followed. Hopefully, people will recognize that and the protests across the country carry on peacefully.
