Overwhelming Majority of Republicans Want Trump to Run in 2024

(NewsReady.com) – It’s no secret that former President Donald Trump is still incredibly popular within the Republican Party. The GOP positions have shifted significantly over the past five years to align with his America First agenda. Although the 2024 presidential election is still more than three years away, voters are already discussing who should carry on the 45th president’s legacy.

According to a Quinnipiac Poll published on October 19, 78% of Republican voters want Trump to run for office again. Only 16% of GOP voters are opposed to his candidacy. These poll numbers are up from May, when only 66% wanted him to run again, and 30% opposed him.

The poll also asked respondents how they feel about the state of the country under Trump’s successor, President Joe Biden. A majority, 52% of voters, say the US is in worse shape now than a year ago, and 41% disagree.

Trump has not said whether he wants to run for office again. However, he remarked that he would decide after he sees how the 2022 midterm elections go. Republicans hope to take the congressional majority back from Democrats and stop the leftist agenda in its tracks. For now, voters will have to wait and see whether Trump throws his MAGA hat into the ring.
