Pelosi Blames Trump and Climate Change for Border Crisis

(NewsReady.com) – The US is currently facing a border crisis. President Joe Biden’s policies led to more than 100,000 people crossing into the country in the month of February. Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi (D-CA), however, isn’t ready to blame the president for his seemingly poor decisions.

On March 14, during an interview with ABC’s George Stephanopoulos, Pelosi claimed Biden inherited a broken immigration system. She said many of the people fleeing El Salvador, Guatemala, and Honduras were doing so “because of the drought.” The congresswoman says the migrants “couldn’t farm” as a result and points to climate change as a major reason for the border treks.

Senator Bill Cassidy (R-LA) disagreed and said the problem lies solely in Biden’s misguided policies.

Where exactly Pelosi got that information from is unclear. When people speak to the migrants who are coming to the US, they usually point to gang violence and economic issues as the reason for their decision — neither of which are Trump’s fault. In fact, Trump’s executive orders and negotiated agreements with Mexico and Central American countries prevented massive caravans to the southern US border.

It seems as though the speaker just wants to find a way to place the blame on anyone other than Biden and, as usual, the 45th president is her target.
