(NewsReady.com) – On Monday, December 14, a Pennsylvania sheriff abandoned the Democratic Party and changed his affiliation to the GOP. The disillusioned lawman said he’s motivated by Dem violations of the Constitution.
Sheriff James Custer of Fayette County, PA, spoke to Fox & Friends on December 13. He said he’s been considering a change for several months, ever since the coronavirus pandemic began and Democrat politicians started infringing on personal liberties. Custer feels the mandates being issued by Dem governors are unconstitutional and that, as a law enforcement officer, his job is to protect the Constitution. He’s also repelled by the socialist agenda of the Democrats at a national level.
He says 'unconstitutional' mandates from Democratic governors played a major role in his decision to switch parties. https://t.co/Wggv02HgLj

Fox host Ainsley Earhardt asked if calls to defund the police had played a part in his decision, and Custer confirmed it was a factor. He said the anti-police tone of many Democrats this year was “not what I signed up for.”
Custer isn’t alone in his change of affiliation. Fayette County’s District Attorney, Rich Bower, is also now a registered Republican.
