(NewsReady.com) – Pennsylvania is one of the most important states in this election. President Donald Trump won the historically-blue state in 2016 and he’s hoping to come out on top again this year. He just landed a huge endorsement that could give him an edge in the Keystone State.
On Halloween, the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette endorsed the president. He became the first Republican the paper’s editorial board has thrown its weight behind since 1972.
This newspaper has not supported a Republican for president since 1972. But we believe President Trump, for all his faults, is the better choice this year.

An op-ed in the newspaper announced the endorsement, and the board asked readers to separate the president’s words from his record. The editorial board explained it chose Trump as its preferred candidate because of his economic record pre-COVID-19. Before the pandemic ravaged the nation, the “economy… boomed,” US trade relations “have vastly improved,” and Americans’ retirement accounts flourished.
On Tuesday, November 3, Americans will head to the polls. Will they vote to give President Trump a chance to bring the economy back to its pre-COVID greatness?
