(NewsReady.com) – It’s been a rough few years for America’s police officers. It seems as though they’re being targeted for doing their jobs more and more often. According to one police veteran, that hostility is having dire consequences.
On Tuesday, April 27, Angel Maysonet, a 22-year police veteran, told “Fox & Friends” the recent spike in police departures is directly related to the vilification of officers. In 2020, more than 5,300 NYPD officers departed the force, a 75% increase from the year before. Maysonet said the police are being “painted as racist occupiers” and politicians are demonizing them. That is taking a toll.

Police departments across the country are already understaffed and underfunded. The last thing they need is to lose more officers. But, is it really any surprise that cops are sick of the job? They put their lives on the line every day, but get little respect. It must be exhausting.
