(NewsReady.com) – Homeland Security Secretary Chad Wolf slammed Portland’s far-left protesters Sunday, July 26, before going on to criticize local politicians who insist the riots are “peaceful.” Talking to Fox News, Wolf defended the federal response to the violence and made it clear that what’s happening in Portland is very different to the situation in other cities.
Wolf told journalists that rioters are coming to the “protests” armed with rocks, baseball bats, power tools and fireworks – all items that have no place at a legitimate protest – and using them to provoke violent clashes with federal law enforcement. He said, “That’s very different than what’s going on in Chicago, places like Chicago, Albuquerque, Kansas City. That is where you see normal criminal activity.”
Hours after Wolf’s comments, Portland police found a bag of Molotov cocktails and loaded rifle magazines abandoned by a rioter.

Meanwhile, the United States Attorney for Oregon echoed Wolf’s criticisms of the city authorities. Billy J. Williams told local media that Portland’s ban on city cops cooperating with federal law enforcement was “nonsensical, political theater.”
Whatever you may think about what’s going on in Portland, one thing’s for sure: it’s certainly not normal.
