Renowned Businessman Accused of Hiring Hitmen to Kill Mistress

(NewsReady.com) – According to statistics, about 14% of marriages experience adultery. Though these relationships often lead to emotional pain, it’s not often they turn deadly. However, that’s what happened when a renowned businessman’s relationship with his mistress turned sour.

On December 13, the US Attorney’s Office for the Middle District of Tennessee announced federal indictments against three Texas men and one North Carolina man. Authorities accuse 46-year-old Erik Charles Maund of hiring three men to murder his alleged mistress Holly Williams, 33, and her boyfriend 36-year-old William Lanway.

Maund, the married grandson of Charles Maund and partner at Maund Automotive Group, allegedly paid the men $750,000 to kidnap and murder the couple after they threatened to expose the affair. The men he allegedly chose were all highly trained. Adam Carey, 30, of NC is a former Marine who served in the Corps’ Special Operations Group. Texas residents Gilad Peled, 47, and Bryon Brockway, 46, also had training; Peled reportedly served with the Israeli Defense Force and Brockway with the Marines.

In March 2020, police say the men allegedly confronted Lanway and Williams in the parking lot of her Nashville, TN apartment complex. They shot and killed Lanway, then kidnapped Willams. They reportedly took her to a construction site with Lanway’s body, then murdered her.

Unbelievably, once the deed was done, Maund left an online review for Speartip Security, a business owned by Peled. Maund claims the company was ‘professional’ and that they ‘(got) the job done in an expedited time.’ Why he chose to leave a review for an assassination is anyone’s guess.

All of the defendants face up to life in prison if convicted.
