(NewsReady.com) – One would be hard-pressed to find a politician who appeals to Republicans as much as former President Donald Trump has in recent years, but Florida Governor Ron DeSantis (R) might come close. The state leader was thrown into the national spotlight during the pandemic because of the way his state largely kept residents’ rights intact. Now, his popularity continues to skyrocket as he battles the Left.
According to reports, DeSantis’ fight against leftist policies in the Sunshine State is putting him in a position to become a possible 2024 candidate for president. Among the issues he’s attacked are COVID-19 restrictions, critical race theory (CRT), the idea that parents shouldn’t have a say in their children’s education, violent protesters, and others. A recent poll from the far-left CNN showed the governor was the only potential candidate other than Trump to receive more than 20% approval.
As Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis' popularity rises among Republicans, DeSantis has been closely mirroring the former president's language. https://t.co/LXPzL0luC4

DeSantis hasn’t just increased his political standing by fighting the Left; he’s done it by sounding like Trump. When he ran for governor in 2018, he ran on an America First platform, even running a campaign ad showing him reading a bedtime story to his kids about building a wall. The governor often cracks jokes like the former president and is known for hitting back twice as hard when the media attacks him.
DeSantis is currently running for reelection and hasn’t said anything about running for president, but the race is still nearly three years away. Do you think he’ll throw his hat in the ring?
