Rumor Claimed Justice Alito's Family Was Forced to Evacuate

Justice Alito EVACUATION? – Rumors Run Wild!

(NewsReady.com) – In February, Justice Samuel Alito wrote a rough draft of a majority opinion for the Dobbs v. Jackson Women’s Health Organization. The draft appeared to have enough support on the court to reverse the Roe v. Wade and Planned Parenthood v. Casey abortion precedents. The outrage from the Left was immediate, and reports indicate Alito is facing a tremendous amount of backlash.

According to rumors, Justice Alito and his family were moved to an undisclosed location for safety reasons. Allegedly, the decision to move him came after the pro-choice group Ruth Sent Us — a nod to the late Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg — posted the addresses of the conservative SCOTUS justices online. A number of protesters took to the streets outside of their homes in recent days, but the backlash against Alito is especially intense because he penned the leaked opinion.

The draft the Left is so worked up about is just that — a draft. No final opinion was issued in the case. It’s not uncommon for justices to change their minds during the deliberations phase; that’s partly why the workings of the court are so secret.

The leak of the draft opinion makes deliberations much harder because political pressure is now on the judges from both sides of the political aisle. The difference is that Republicans aren’t screaming at the justices outside of their homes and intimidating their families.

It was later disclosed that the rumors, initially noted by Georgetown University lecturer Ilya Shapiro, do not seem to have any basis at this point.
