Russian Pundit Hints at Deadly Threat to Lindsey Graham

(NewsReady.com) – Senator Lindsey Graham (R-SC) is one of the most vocal anti-Russia hawks in the government. The lawmaker has repeatedly spoken out against President Vladimir Putin over the years. Recently, the authoritarian regime issued an arrest warrant for him, and a Russian political pundit has issued a deadly threat.

On Sunday, May 28, Margarita Simonyan, Russia Today’s editor-in-chief, attacked Graham over his meeting with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy. During their conversation, the senator said the aid America has sent to Ukraine to help them fight the Russian military is the “best money we’ve ever spent.” He compared the Eastern European conflict to the US war against England for independence.

Zelenskyy remarked the US is now free and said his country will be, too. Graham responded, “And the Russians are dying.”

Simonyan responded to Graham’s remarks about killing Russians by calling for his assassination. She called the senator “Lady Graham,” a homophobic trope often leveled against the South Carolina senator by Liberals who believe he is gay. The editor-in-chief declared that “dirty American money” was used to support “the Nazi regime in Germany.” She called the senator a “Nazi beast” and said he would “croak” while the Russian people “live forever.”

After the meeting, Dmitry Peskov, a Kremlin spokesperson, said that shame had befallen the US because of senators like Graham. Russia’s Interior Ministry responded by opening an investigation into the senator and issuing an arrest warrant.

Graham was unbothered by the move. The lawmaker was already banned from entering the country. He responded to the news on Twitter, saying the fact that Putin’s regime is so angry brings him “immense joy.” He went on to say he intended to continue to help the Ukrainian people and fight until Russia is expelled from the country. Further, the senator promised to wear the arrest warrant as a “badge of Honor.”
