(NewsReady.com) – It seems that the GOP is adopting the mindset of “the enemy of my enemy is my friend” when it comes to dealing with Sen. Bernie Sanders (D-VT). A plan is in the works to help President Trump win in November by helping Bernie Sanders win the South Carolina primary.
Sounds a little crazy, but here’s how the plan works.
The South Carolina GOP, along with several other states, has canceled the Republican primary because Trump is basically running unopposed and is a shoo-in to take the delegates.
Primaries in South Carolina are open, meaning anyone from either party can vote in either primary.
This means that Republicans can show up and vote in the Democrat primary and cast their ballots for Bernie Sanders, arguably the most Socialist candidate running.
So why would they want to do this? Simple, they believe Sanders has the worst chance out of all the DNC candidates of beating Trump in November. They are practically polar opposites, and with Trump’s popularity, the SC Republicans feel Sanders will be easy to beat.
The plan, which was reportedly orchestrated by several prominent Republican Party leaders in South Carolina, revolves around GOP leadership's belief that Sen. Bernie Sanders poses the least amount of challenge to President Trump. https://t.co/qwQry1gOI4

In a recent The Post and Courier primary poll, Sanders trailed Joe Biden by just five points. State GOP officials believe that Biden would give Trump a harder time than Sanders. They feel giving Sanders a win in South Carolina’s primary would strengthen Trump’s position in the general election.
