Suicide Drones Hit Nation’s Capital

(NewsReady.com) – The war in Ukraine is going into its eighth month and doesn’t appear to be ending any time soon. Russia has become even more aggressive lately after losing ground in the conflict, and the invaded nation’s capital recently faced a fresh wave of attacks.

On Monday, October 17, Kyiv was hit by multiple suicide drones. The unmanned aerial devices soared into the city carrying payloads that exploded after entering the city. Residents of the city reportedly tried to shoot the drones down; others ran for their lives as the weapons slammed into buildings.

One of the drones hit a residential building, killing at least four people. According to CNBC, Kyiv’s Mayor Vitali Klitschko said 28 drones with explosives attacked the country’s capital.

The drones used in the attack were allegedly made in Iran. The Middle Eastern government is accused of sending up to 50 elite soldiers from the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) to help train Russians on how to use drones. However, Iran has denied getting involved.

The drones reportedly attacked other cities as well. Newsmax reported that Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy accused Russia of terrorizing civilians throughout the “whole night, and the whole morning.” He went on to say, “The enemy can attack [Ukraine’s] cities, but it won’t be able to break [the people].”
