(NewsReady.com) – Mexican drug cartels are responsible for an increase in fentanyl trafficking in the US. They have also killed and kidnapped dozens of Americans in their own country. Senator Ted Cruz (R-TX) shared worrying reports about narco-terrorism recently.
On Tuesday, March 7, Cruz appeared on Fox News’ “Jesse Watters Primetime” to discuss the recent kidnapping and murders of a group of Americans in Mexico. The lawmaker said President Joe Biden has created “chaos at the border” and slammed his various policies. He said the cartels’ revenue has increased 26 times over since 2018.
Cruz told Watters that anyone who kills Americans should be held accountable but doesn’t think the crimes would happen with “responsible presidential leadership.” He went on to say the narco-terrorists made about $500 million in 2018, but last year, they took in $13 billion.
The senator placed the blame squarely on Biden’s shoulders, saying he is the “best thing that ever happened to the Mexican drug cartels.”

In the most recent case, four Americans were kidnapped in broad daylight after cartel members opened fire on their minivan in Matamoros, Tamaulipas, Mexico. Zindell Brown, Latavia McGee, Eric Williams, and Shaeed Woodard traveled to the country so that McGee could have a cosmetic procedure.
Shortly after crossing the border, the cartel members confronted them. On Tuesday, Williams and McGee were rescued and sent back to the US. Sadly, Williams and Woodard died in the kidnapping. The State Department had previously warned Americans about traveling to that particular area in Mexico because it’s controlled by the Gulf cartel.
During the interview, Cruz also made it clear he does not agree with his colleague, Senator Lindsey Graham (R-SC), that invading Mexico to attack cartels is the right answer. The victims of the kidnapping are from Graham’s state, so he is taking the crime very personally.
