“The View” Suggests Trump Caused Ohio Train Crash

(NewsReady.com) – Former President Donald Trump is under fire from the liberal media again — for, of all things, the East Palestine train derailment. In a shocking outburst last week, ABC host Joy Behar launched a rant at Trump for cutting red tape on American businesses — and the unlucky people of East Palestine for voting for him.

On the February 23 episode of ABC’s “The View,” host Sunny Hostin claimed that Transportation Secretary Pete Buttigieg had done the right thing by not visiting the scene of the February 3 derailment, which ended with five tank cars full of vinyl chloride being burned off to prevent an explosion. Local residents are now worried that the toxic chemicals released by the fire have contaminated their air and drinking water, but federal agencies are saying everything’s perfectly safe. Nevertheless, Hostin said Buttigieg was obviously working hard instead of doing media appearances.

Hostin then went on to criticize Trump, who did turn up in East Palestine — and not just for a photo op, either; the former president brought truckloads of clean water for residents. Behar then went further, claiming that Americans need government regulations to keep us safe from businesses. She accused Trump of supporting deregulation, implying that he had made the railroads less safe.

As if that wasn’t enough, Behar then launched an astonishing direct attack on East Palestine’s residents. Shouting angrily at the camera, she said, “That’s who you voted for, in that district. Donald Trump, who reduces all safety.” Hostin, not to be outdone, then cut in with, “I think this is Donald Trump’s fault.”

The hosts were likely referring to a safety regulation that the Trump Administration repealed in 2018 regarding electronically-controlled brakes, but that wouldn’t have applied to this particular train as it wasn’t a high hazard flammable train, but rather a mixed freight.

The Biden Administration has passed legislation to spend $1 trillion on the US’s crumbling infrastructure — but that money is being spent on EV charging points, high-speed internet, and green energy. Just weeks after the East Palestine incident, another Norfolk Southern train derailed in North Carolina, but this time there were no hazmat chemicals onboard.
