(NewsReady.com) – On September 27, the New York Times (NYT) posted an explosive report about President Donald Trump’s taxes. The newspaper reportedly received two decades of his tax data. Now, a top Republican lawmaker wants to know how the paper got that information.
Rep. Kevin Brady (R-TX) called for an investigation into the NYT’s source. The ranking member of the House Ways and Means Committee is angry that the paper has the information. The congressman wants to make sure Americans are protected from the “illegal release” of their returns for “political reasons.” Rep. Doug Collins (R-GA) agreed with his colleague and called on the DOJ to look into the matter.
.@RepKevinBrady is exactly right. Releasing any Americans’ private tax return information for political purposes isn’t just wrong — it’s a felony crime.

Imagine having someone release your private information to a newspaper in order for your enemies to launch an attack on you. That’s what this source did. If they broke the law, they should absolutely face the consequences.
