Toys R Us Returns – Surprise Announcement for Fans!
(NewsReady.com) – In 2017, Toys R Us filed for chapter 11 bankruptcy and closed almost all of its stores in the US a year later. In 2019, Tru Kids Brands purchased the rights to the company; two years later, in January 2021, it closed its two remaining stores. After a few months, the company rose from the ashes once more.
In August 2021, Toys R Us’ new owner WHP Global entered a partnership with Macy’s to open 400 shop-in-shops in the department store. The stores are now reopening almost a year after the announcement. The locations will begin opening in late July and be completed by the end of October.
From October 15 through October 23, Macy’s will host in-store events where it will give away prizes.

According to a report, Atlanta, Chicago, Honolulu, Houston, LA, Miami, NYC, and San Jose will all be home to flagship locations, which will range from 1,000 to 10,000 square feet. Macy’s will allow each of the stores to expand its footprints up to 3,000 square feet during the holidays. The news means the popular toy store will be open just in time for families to shop for Christmas. And just like that, a new generation of Toys “R” Us kids will be born.
