(NewsReady.com) – Two hospital ships are docked on opposite ends of the country to help with the COVID-19 outbreak. The USNS Comfort, currently in New York, was originally slated to treat people without the virus. However, on April 6, President Donald Trump agreed to reassign Comfort to process coronavirus patients, giving New York an additional 1,000 hospital beds. In California, the USNS Mercy is also helping fight the war against the illness but was nearly attacked by an unlikely suspect.
USNS Mercy is currently treating non-COVID-19 patients at the Port of Los Angeles. On March 31, a train engineer tried to attack the ship.
A bizarre story from Los Angeles involving the US Navy hospital ship Mercy.

The man, Eduardo Moreno, thought there was something sinister happening on Mercy so he tried to derail a train into the vessel. He claimed he wanted to show the world the “truth.”
Instead, the train ended up in a parking lot 250 yards away from the hospital ship. Moreno tried to escape before being caught and charged with train wrecking charges. Fortunately, all of the innocent people in the area escaped injury.
Who knows why Moreno believed a conspiracy theory claiming the crew on the ship were bad people. Situations like this are why it’s so important to stay calm and drown out the noise. The United States is in the good hands of President Trump. He and his team are doing everything they can to protect the American people.
