(NewsReady.com) – On September 3, The Atlantic published a report claiming President Donald Trump called American troops who were killed in action “suckers” and “losers.” The commander-in-chief denied the report last week and so have people who were there when the conversation reportedly took place. On Labor Day, the president was even more forceful in his denial during a press conference at the White House.
Trump denied the allegations, stating “only an animal” would say things like that about the soldiers who gave their lives for the USA. He went on to slam The Atlantic Editor-in-Chief Jeffrey Goldberg who allowed the “hoax” story to go to press, calling him someone with a “tremendously bad history.”
Former Deputy White House Chief-of-Staff Zach Fuentes also denied the claim that Trump ever insulted the troops. He said he “did not hear POTUS call anyone losers.” The president thanked Fuentes for his support.

The Atlantic story has not been verified by any named sources, at this time. Instead, the news organization is hiding behind the age-old “anonymous sources” to launch a conveniently-timed attack on the president with less than two months until the election.
