Trump Furious at Liz Cheney’s Book Claims

( – Former Rep. Liz Cheney (R-WY) grew up in Republican politics. Her father, former Vice President Dick Cheney (R), served in multiple presidential administrations. She went on to serve as the third-most powerful conservative in the House of Representatives. Then she lost it all by opposing former President Donald Trump. Now, she’s written a book, and Trump is furious.

On December 5, Cheney’s book “Oath and Honor: A Memoir and a Warning” hit the shelves. The book assails Republicans, whom she claims have enabled Trump. Prior to the book’s release, media organizations ran stories about some of its contents, including a conversation she had with former Speaker of the House Kevin McCarthy (R-CA). After the January 6 attack on the Capitol, Trump took a major political hit, and conservative leaders backed away from him. Then McCarthy made a trip to Mar-a-Lago to visit him.

In the book, Cheney claims she asked McCarthy why he made the trip to Florida. He allegedly told her Trump’s staff was worried about him because he wasn’t eating after losing the presidential race to President Joe Biden. She said the ex-speaker said Trump was “really depressed.”

Trump responded to the allegations on Truth Social. He said Cheney suffers from “Trump Derangement Syndrome at a level rarely seen before” and called the claims he wasn’t eating “not true.” He told his followers that he “was not depressed, [he] WAS ANGRY” and it caused him to start “eating too much.” McCarthy, according to the 45th POTUS, went to Florida to “bring the Republican Party together” and to get his support.

The former president then pointed out that Cheney went on to lose her congressional seat by a huge margin and accused her of destroying evidence when she served on the January 6th Committee.

Cheney has made it her mission to try to prevent Trump from being president again. However, the former president is leading the GOP in the primary, and straw polls show he’s also leading Biden in the general.
